Founders Day Celebration:

Saturday, March 30th, 2019

The NOVA and DC/ Suburban Maryland Almunae Chapters invite you to celebrate 148 years of sisterhood at the Annual Founder's Day Celebration. Also, the NOVA Chapter will be celebrating 50 years as an Alumnae Chapter.

Please remember there are no refunds for tickets, but we do allow substitutions.

This year's featured speaker is Allison Farris, Miss District of Columbia 2018

Allison Farris is a software developer at Microsoft, where she creates and codes apps for U.S. Government Agencies. Growing up as a classical pianist, it was music that led her to technology.

Allison received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems and a Master of Science in Enterprise Integration at the University of Alabama.

Realizing she could blend her love of the arts with her passion as an advocate for women in technology brought her to compete in the Miss America program. Her personal journey, with poise and strength through a male-dominated field, immediately connects her to the young girls who participate in the DigiGirlz program nationally. She bridges the gap between right and left brain and opens up the field of technology for those who have never considered it, unveiling the opportunities within STEM fields by engaging in hands-on learning through interactive passion projects.
